Product Compatibility
It's vital to use the right inks and papers, to get the best results from your Copic markers.
Testing Inks
Stamp image on to desired paper choice; let dry completely. Scribble over the stamped image with your Colorless Blender.
Does the stamped ink feather or bleed?
Yes - This is not a compatible ink DO NOT use it.
No - Great. it's safe to use with your Copic Markers.
My personal favorites are Memento - Tuxedo Black Ink and Ranger Distress Ink - Black Soot.
Testing Papers
Draw a circle with an ink pen.
Color up to the edges with your Copic Marker using a lot of ink, saturating the paper.
Does the ink feather or bleed outside the lines?
Yes - Not good, I recommend trying it again. If you get the same results try another paper.
No - Wonderful it's a good paper choice to use with your Copic Markers.
I've had great results using Neenah 80lb Solar White Card Stock, X-Press It Blending Card 92lb White Card Stock, Gina K Pure Luxury 120lb White Card Stock and Cryogen White 89lb Card Stock(I'm currently looking into getting this for the store).
Testing Digital Images
Print your images as normal on your paper of choice and test your printer in the same way we did with the stamped image. If your printer ink isn't compatible, you can try heat-setting the image or make a laser copy before you color. If the ink stays wet enough you could also try embossing your printed image with embossing powder.
