I hope you are having a fabulous day.
In today's online class I worked on Day 81 in the
Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Today's story is about a mother with two babies at home.
One day they were inconsolable.
She could not get them to stop crying.
She tried everything.
She feeds them, changs them, bathes them, and gets them dresses.
When that doesn't work she swaddles them and bounces them, sways and cuddles them.
Still nothing.
Finally, at her wit's end, she calls her husband at work.
But she doesn't get him he is in a meeting.
Instead, she get's his voice mail.
So she leaves a 45-second message of nothing but the two cherubs screaming.
Now, what to do?
She loads them in the car for a ride.
Car rides usually do the trick.
But where to go?
McDonald's of course.
For a burger and fries.
You don't even have to get out of the car.
You can use the drive through!
After getting her burger and fries she parks her car to eat her food and cry.
Years later when she's feeling down where do you think she is tempted to go?
Not to her knees.
Not to God's word.
But to the nearest drive-thru altar.
Have you ever been in this situation?
I have and not just with crying infants.
My food of choice is usually a sugary treat.
Whenever the going gets tough food is where I turn.
I need to change that.
I need to learn to turn to God when I'm dealing with tough situations.
He's there waiting.
He's waiting for you also.
