Hello There!
I hope you are having a fabulous day.
In today's online class I worked on Day 81 in the
Proverbs 31:26
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
Today's story is about criticism.
You know what I'm talking about.
A person says something about your parenting skills,
someone leaves a thought on your social media account,
an email lands in your inbox full of criticism.
You could receive a bunch of uplifting comments,
but it's that one comment that throws you into self-doubt.
It's that one comment that you remember all day.
So you call a friend to process these hurtful comments.
What does she say?
You are not perfect.
And if you were perfect you would be all alone.
Jesus was the only perfect person who has walked this planet.
He was constantly criticized.
But guess what?
Nowhere in scripture is it recorded that he doubted himself.
He stays secure in his purpose and confident in his calling.
Jesus depended solely on his Father's approval.
What his Father said was all that mattered.
He is there for us when we are criticizing ourselves, in the midst of our less-than-perfect lives, when disappointment and failures leave us empty and make us doubt ourselves.
He sees us, and He's pursuing us with the gift of his perfect love.
Have you had days like this?
I sure have.
Every day I doubt myself and my abilities.
So let's let God be perfect.
And embrace the less-than-perfect reality of our lives, our days and learn to see both as normal because after al only God is perfect.
