Hello There!
I hope you are having a fabulous day.
In today's online class I worked on Day 81 in the
Romans 6:6
For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin-
Today's story is about weeding.
With a grumbling heart, the girl goes to the abandoned lot to do her service mission for her discipleship class.
It's a mission to cultivate humanity.
One full hour of pulling weeds.
Just God, the weeds, the heat, and her.
As she pulls weeds one after another it amazes her that although they are dead, they were everywhere with deep and stubborn roots.
And even though some looked dead, still they had the greenness of life in the deepest part of their root, in a sort of dormant state.
Through her grumbling, God pursued her with a message for her heart straight from him.
These dead weeds are just like our sin we allow to creep into the soil of our hearts.
Our past can be so ridden with remnants of weeds, that even when they appear to be dead, upon farther inspection, their roots still contain life.
To really heal from past sin, we must go back to those ugly remnants and remove their stubborn roots...
to excise them once and for all.
Driving away from her chore she gave thanks - remembering that in spite of my attitude, He met her.
In her service,
she was changed.
Do you have some weeds in your life?
I do.
Does the past come back to haunt you?
Yes.
God is there for us.
We just have to ask.
