(In) Courage - A Moment to Breathe - Day 241

Hey there!
I hope your day is going great.

In today's online class I worked on Day 241 in the

Heather's Hobbie Haven - A Moment to Breathe - Day 241

Today's verse was
Ephesians 4:1-3
But I had already done that page and a tip in so I did a Google search on Bible Verse: Peace
and came up with...

Numbers 6:26
The Lord turns his face toward you and gives you peace.

Today's story is about peace.

The kids are at grandma's house and you are home being all kinds of productive.
You have a whole list of things you are going to do.
Then tonight when the kids are back we will have a family dinner and game night!

Then the kids come home early from grandma's.
So much for getting all those things done.
Then one child does something not so great and the other one doesn't do something you ask them to do.

All of a sudden you lose your peace and patients right in the middle of the kitchen.
The family dinner and game night don't go so well.

You go to bed feeling guilty and ashamed.
Guilt convinces you are a terrible, horrible, no-good parent who has permanently damaged your children.
Shame points it's finger at you and tells you that you are the worst parent ever.

In the past, I would have shaken hands with guilt and shame and agreed with them.
But I'm different I know the difference between conviction and condemnation.
Condemnation says: You are never going to change.
Conviction says: All you need to do is apologize and ask for forgiveness.

So the next morning I stand on God's conviction and apologize and ask my kids to forgive me.
Later we have a much different dinner and family game night.

I don't know about you but for me, nothing throws me off more than having plans and then having them interrupted.
Planning on getting all this stuff done and then getting nothing done.

Like doing a Bible journaling video.
I planned on doing it yesterday but that didn't happen.
Lexie decided it would be a hang on mom's leg all week kind of week.
So, of course, I was cranky and not so fun.
In the end, it didn't matter.
God showed me a quick and easy way.
