Color Combo's - Blues...

I thought we could try some different color combo's.
Maybe some you've never tried.
I'm adding mine to my swatch ring.
The cute image is by Krista Smith over at Saturated Canary.
She gave it away as a freebie for Breast Cancer Awareness a while back.
I didn't see it in her store, but you might find it on her blog. (?)
** I found it HERE
It came with the Breast Cancer symbol on the front of the shirt.
I erased it before I printed it out.
I didn't want to cover it up, but I liked the open area of the shirt for my practicing.

I did a quick coloring on each page.
I didn't spend any time fussing with it or blending a lot.
I just wanted to see what the colors looks like together.

My first combo is B01, B00 & B0000
Nice light color I can see me using again.

This combo is B97, B45 & B41
Way darker.
Not sure if I like it, but if I fiddled with it some more it could grow on me.

If your coloring along with me you can grab this cute Krista Smith image HERE.
Krista had it as a freebie for Breast Cancer Awareness.
I erased the logo before printing so I wouldn't have to worry about coloring over it.

I have some more to color and some more colored up so stay tuned for more Color Combo's.

Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Girl...

This poor little Crafter's Companion Birthday Girl stamp has been patiently waiting her turn.
I found her on my desk when I cleaned it off.
So of course I had to color her up  and make her into a kit.
The image comes with 3 sentiments and an accessory image.
The stamp is unmounted, but I have put a piece of EZ Mount in the kit so you can get started right away.

There is a whole line of these cute elephant images.
I think I may have at least one more in the color box.

Do you like elephants?
Would you like me to get more to make kits out of?
Let me know.

The pretty paper is Basic Grey Kissing Booth.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!

Color Combo's 10 + 2...

How about another 10 + 2 Color Combo.

This week I used Yellow Red

I picked my lightest color first
Lightest Color: YR00
then for my medium color I added 10 + 2 so
YR00 +10 = YR10 + 2 = YR12
Medium Color: YR12
then for my darkest color I added 10 + 2 so
YR12 + 10 = YR22 + 2 = YR24
Darkest Color: YR24

I know there is no YR10 or YR22 but since there was YR12 & YR24
I used the combo's anyways.
I'm sure someday Copic will add these colors.

The image used is a digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil.
She can be found HERE.

Are you ready for the August Coloring Card Kits?
This months kits feature Whimsy Stamps images by Elizabeth Bell.
I thought it was the perfect time to have a couple of boy cards.
Plus they are both super cute!

First up we have the Water Coloring Card Kit: Snoozin'
The whole image was a lot of fun to color, but
I loved working on that tree.
The paper is My Minds Eye - Miss Caroline.
I even managed to use the New Distress Markers.
Grab a kit and join me for the online tutorial.

Next we have the Copic Coloring Card Kit: Little Jack & Bobbin Gone Fishin'.
Aren't they cute?
I love the little puppy Bobbin.
The paper is Echo Park This & That - Charming

This month we'll be adding texture to Little Jacks pants.
So grab a kit and join me for the online tutorial.

I've decide to make the monthly kits more special for those of you that purchase them.
I will be making the online tutorials private.
I will be emailing everyone who purchases a kit a private link to watch the video(s).
I will still be doing other video's as time allows for other things.
I just think the monthly kit purchasers should get that little something extra.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!

Color Combo's 10 + 2...

Have you ever tried picking your colors with the 10 + 2 rule?
Me either, but thought I would give it a try.

I have colored the sign with the 10 + 2 rule.

I picked my lightest color first
Lightest Color: B00
then for my medium color I added 10 + 2 so
B00 +10 = B10 + 2 + B12
Medium Color: B12
then for my darkest color I added 10 + 2 so
B12 + 10 = B22 + 2 = B24
Darkest Color: B24

This is my first attempted, but I'll be trying others and sharing them with you.
Start a color swatch book that  I can look back at.
Ok maybe not a book, but a bunch of colored images on a ring.

The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.
Girl with Sign can be found HERE.

In case you would like to start a swatch book too.
Any image with a big open space would work.
Maybe a girl with an open dress or a tee shirt.

Sign: B00, B12, B24
Skin: E21, E00
Cheeks: R20, R30, E000
Hair: E35, E33, E31, E30
Dress: R00, R81
Shoes: N9, N7, N5
Socks: N0
Ground: W00, W1, W3
Shadow: C0

Edwin With Airplane Card Kit...

I guess I must be in a boy mood.
Cause I was digging through the color box and came across this cute Edwin With Airplane.
Doesn't he go great on the Echo Park This & That Charming Paper.
I love the background piece with all the different images on it Vintage Boy.
I even broke out the eyelets. I can't remember the last time I used eyelets. Can you?

Doesn't he look adorable?
While they last.

Have you picked up your July Monthly Card Kits?
If not you'll want to do that before Saturday.
or
Don't forget you can always ask for different paper.
Water color paper for the Copic kit or Copic paper for the water color kit.

I've already started on the August Monthly Kits.
I have the images picked.
The water color image colored.
It turned out GREAT!
Now to whip it up into a great card and start on the Copic image.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!

Just For Fun - Lilli Claire's Bouquet

This weeks Just For Fun image is from Tiddly Inks.
Isn't she adorable?
There are so many great digi's out there.
I have a bunch I still need to color.
I pulled all the paper out of my scrap bucket.

I think I'm getting better with my ShinHan Markers.
It easier to sit down and color and just pick colors out.
I had to figure the color system out first.
Bigger numbers seem to be darker in a row

BR92 Darkest Tone
BR96 Middle Tone
BR97 Lightest Tone

Hair/Shoes: BR92, BR96, BR97

Clear Stamp Issues...

I can't be the only one who forgets:

Ok so I was stamping with some clear stamps the other day and ran into an issue.
I stamped it out and good golly it didn't stamp right at all.
It kind of looked like the stamp pad maybe low on ink.
So I re-inked the stamp pad, let it set for a while and tried again.
Nope that didn't fix it.
What to do?
Is it defective?
Why isn't it stamping right?

Well after throwing a fit, stamping it a bunch of times and considering sending it back.

I remembered that clear stamps have a residue on them that needs cleaned off.
Silly me.
You can use a pink eraser on the entire stamp, then clean it like you normally would
(make sure and stamp it again on scratch paper to try it out)
or
my cheating way.
I ink it up with Stazon Ink, stamp it out until it stamps perfect (4-5 times).
Then clean it with Stazon Cleaner.
I don't know what the Stazon does, maybe dirty it up.
But it always works after my cleaning procedure.

Good luck with your clear stamps.
I thought I would share since I have quite a few in the color box.
Make sure and always try the stamps out on scratch paper before stamping on your image piece.
Especially clear stamps.

Bike Kid Card Kit...

I don't usually do guy images, I have to really love it.
But when I seen this cute guy I knew he would be so fun to color.
Boy was I right.
I picked the Bo Bunny On The Go paper with the fun bright guy theme.
I love that piece with the trucks.

Check him out!
Isn't he cute?

See you tomorrow.
Have a wonderful day.

Butterfly Lucy Card Kit...

I really love how this cute Water Coloring Card Kit: Butterfly Lucy turned out.
The card measures 5 1/4" x 5 1/4"
Another surprise there is no pattern paper.
I've used a bunch of cutter dies - Picket Fence, Leafy Branch, Flower Border & Grass Border.
The stems on the flower border are really small so you have to be careful.
The clouds are made with the cloud template that can be download on the side bar.

I used one of the new Distress Colors - Festive Berries on her dress.
If you want one of these kits don't wait too long there are only a couple left already.

Thanks for stopping by.
I hope your all having a fabulous week.
