Hello There!
I hope you are having a fabulous day.
In today's online class I worked on Day 81 in the
Ephesians 4:22-24
[You took] off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires, to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, the one created according to God's likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.
Today's story is about a teenager and a mother who dares her to use that razor blade.
She thinks about taking her life.
She is alone in her hormonal, awkward, adolescent world.
She gets pregnant.
She has an abortion.
Plays grown-up in a trailer.
Life hurts and is out of control.
She eventually moves in with her dad and tries to regain "normal".
New clothes, homework, and a curfew.
Today she is grown up.
Lives in a suburban home, with a good husband and three healthy, well-fed, well-clothed, much-loved children.
She was hurting and desperate and just wanted to be loved.
She just wanted to be held and comforted.
Do you know someone like this?
Maybe you go to church and there is someone who sits alone.
Someone who stands out in their differentness.
Maybe you notice someone at your child's school who always sits alone.
Maybe they dress differently than the other children.
Maybe they look unkempt.
Maybe it's someone you've seen around town and avoid at all costs.
Have I seen and ignored someone like this?
Yes...
They need you.
Be kind and open.
Show love and grace.
Show them the Savior.
They are the outsider, the bad girl/boy, the one it would be so easy to give up on.
Don't give up on them!
Love them.
Invite them.
Include them.
They need you.
